He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Health Care Executives.
Dr. Vukmir received medical and legal degrees from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. He completed a residency program in Emergency Medicine and a Critical Care fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
He is a certified instructor of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) and is a member of the National Disaster Medical Service (NDMS), Medical Specialty Evaluation Team(MSET).
Dr. Vukmir also has a Juris Doctorate and a Certificate in Health Law. Current interests include management of medico-legal risk, emergency department(ED)and intensive care unit(ICU) efficiency, and personnel management.
He has practiced Emergency Medicine and Critical Care for over 30 years and is licensed in PA, OH, WV, FL, HI, NY, OK, TX, GA ,NH and VT.
As an educator, he has authored forty-two peer reviewed medical journal articles, eleven scientific and popular media books and serves as Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine.
